The National Weather Service in Wakefield, Va., has issued a briefing as of 8 a.m., Monday, April 18th, highlighting the impacts from a coastal storm expected today and tonight. Key highlights include:

  • Confidence is High that this event will occur this afternoon and tonight. 
  • Coastal Flooding: Minor coastal flooding is possible for areas adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean, Chesapeake Bay, and major tidal rivers. 
  • Gale force winds are expected. These strong winds will lead to dangerous seas. 
  • High surf and minor beach erosion is expected.
