Dear Editor:
Did you know Accomack County School year-round employees (not teachers) have more paid time off than state and county workers? I listened to a recent school board meeting where they talked about and voted on just working four days a week this summer. They also managed to give themselves a five-day weekend for 4th of July, paid of course. How do you get five days off for a holiday that falls on a Sunday? The county employees get July 5 off as a holiday.
The pandemic was difficult on the children and families of this county and the students missed out on so much this past year. Why are the school division employees working LESS?
