The Eastern Shore of Virginia Chamber of Commerce recognized four healthcare professionals jointly with a distinguished service award at a ceremony Wednesday, July 29, in Onley. Recognized for their service to the community, in particular during the COVID-19 pandemic, were the team of Dr. David Jones, of Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital; Dr. Tom Hollandsworth, chief medical officer of Eastern Shore Rural Health System; Dr. Scott Wolpin, chief dental officer of Eastern Shore Rural Health System; and J. J. Justis, emergency coordinator at the Eastern Shore Health District (accepted by Jon Richardson).
The chamber awarded its 2020 Citizen of the Year honor to the Rev. Kelvin Jones of First Baptist Church in Capeville.
The 2020 Small Business Person of the year award went to Andy Buchholz of Eastern Shore Signs, LLC.
Anne Kyle Doughty of Coldwell Banker Harbour Realty/Seacoast Realty was named Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
Attorney John Custis was recognized by outgoing Chairwoman Jeanette Edwards with the Chairman’s Award.
