Mr. Richard Anthony Taylor Sr., 72, of Bloxom, husband of Caroll Kay Birch Taylor, passed away on Aug. 26, 2026, in Onancock.

Born on Sept. 16, 1953, in Sanford, he was the son of the late Garland Lee Taylor Sr. and Mildred Coulborn Taylor. 

Richard worked for Taylor’s Packing Company and Tyson’s. He enjoyed antique cars, listening to oldies, and enjoying time with his grandchildren. 

Other than his wife, Caroll, Richard is survived by his sons, Richard Taylor Jr. and his wife, Erika, of Bloxom, Kenny Taylor and his wife, Shannon, of Atlantic, and Mikey Taylor and his wife, Sallie, of Nelsonia; his grandchildren, Shane, Payton, Charlie, Erin, Alyssa, and Nora Taylor; his siblings, Garland “Buddy” Taylor Jr., of Temperanceville, Dawn Fox, of Connecticut, Linda Linton and her husband, Barry, of Saxis, Wayne Taylor and his wife, Valerie, of Sanford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Nancy; his sister-in-law, Linda Taylor; and his brother-in-law, Johnny Fox.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, Aug. 30, at 2 p.m. from Bloxom Volunteer Fire Company, with the Rev. Starr Johnson officiating.
