Mr. Jason Jacob Walters, 50, passed away Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, at Shore Health and Rehabilitation in Parksley. He was the son of Elizabeth “Liz” Walters-West, of Northside Chesconnessex, Onancock, and the late Alan E. Walters, and stepson of Eugene J. West, of Onancock.
Jason was born on Sept. 27, 1974, in Weehawken, N.J., where he was raised until moving to Onancock with his family at the age of 12. He was a 1994 graduate of Nandua High School and came to appreciate all the Shore had to offer through his love for nature, animals, and photography. Jason wouldn’t have wanted it to be about his destination but special moments during his lifetime that we shared with him and gave us joy.
In addition to his mother Liz and stepfather Eugene, Jason is survived by his brother, Jeffrey Alan Walters (Mandi), of Hopeton; his stepbrother, Jesse West (Brandy) and his son, Jayden, of Bloxom; a niece, Angela Walters, and her daughter, Lillian; his aunts, Diana Marx, Elaine Cunningham, and Laura Walters; his uncle, Butch Masik (Tami); and several cousins and extended family members.
He was predeceased by his father, Alan; aunt, Karen Walters; maternal grandparents, Walter Masik and Josephine Bramich and her husband, Frederick; and paternal grandparents, Jacob and Lillian Walters.
Jason’s mom and family wish to thank Shore Health and Rehabilitation and No Limits Eastern Shore for those who provided help, support, and care over the years.
Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home, Thursday, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Steve Doan officiating. Interment followed in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery. There was a visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 5 until 7 p.m.
