Mr. Ervin Linwood Bundick, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 91 at his home in Accomac, on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025.
Born on June 2, 1933, in Accomac, Linwood was the son of Mason Lee Bundick and Annie Dix Bundick. From an early age, he embraced the value of hard work — a principle he carried throughout his life. In fact, he didn’t retire until the age of 90, a testament to his dedication and perseverance. Few could match his work ethic. As a truck driver, he knew the roads well, often making time for a stop at Stuckey’s to catch up on “Shore Talk.”
Linwood had a deep love for animals, sometimes preferring their company to people. He never turned away a stray, and many found a permanent place in his heart and home. His favorite dog, “Baby,” was his loyal co-pilot, riding shotgun on countless hauls.
A devoted provider, Linwood instilled in his family the values of hard work and love of country. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones, the mechanics who knew him up and down the Shore, and, most of all, by his faithful furbabies.
Linwood is survived by his wife, Maggie Voyles Bundick, of Accomac; his children, Lou Ann Lewis and her husband, John Harold, of Accomac, Cheryl Bloxom, of Parksley, David Bundick and Sarah, of Accomac, and Margaret Sargent, of Onley; his sister, Betty Ann Milliner, of Accomac; his grandchildren, Ronnie Nicholson (Jenny), Johnny Lewis, Brett Lewis, Tyler Bloxom, Michaela Bloxom, Billy Baumgardner (Rachael), Shirley Kelly (Jason), and T.J. Sargent; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his furbabies, Baby, Tiny, Angel, Blue Eyes, Cutie Pie, Sunshine, Sandell, and Pretty Girl.
He was predeceased by his parents, Mason Lee and Annie Bundick; his first wife, Shirley Simpson Bundick; his children, Joan Baumgardner, E. Linwood “Boy” Bundick Jr., and Jerry Crockett; and his brother, Mason Lee Bundick Jr.
A funeral service celebrating Linwood’s life will be conducted from the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Parksley on Sunday, March 2, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Dr. David Denny officiating. Interment will be held at the Fairview Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends will gather for a viewing at the funeral home on Saturday, March 1, from 5 until 7 p.m.
