Mrs. Jennie Rebecca DeWitt, 93, of Chincoteague Island, passed away on Jan. 15, 2025.
She was born on Oct. 29, 1931, to Oliver and Hazel (Trout) Hertzel in Pennsylvania. Jennie was a beautician at Jennie’s Beauty Shop. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Jennie is survived by her daughter, Roxanne Hill (Nathan); grandchildren, Jennie (Hill) Martinez (Terrance) and Natalie Hill; great-grandchildren, Isaac Hill, Lillian Paige, and Cohen Haymond; great-great-grandchild, Olivia Joy Haymond; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emmett F. DeWitt; son, Harry Albert DeWitt; grandson, Lee DeWitt; three sisters, Olive, Betty, and Fern; and her brother, Kenneth.
