Mr. Edward “Eddie” Tull, 87, of Chincoteague Island, passed away peacefully at his home on Jan. 14, 2025, surrounded by his family.

He was born on Sept. 23, 1937, in Crisfield, Md., to the late Robert Tull Sr. and Rachel Tull (Lunn).

Eddie was a graduate of Chincoteague High School, where he was a stellar athlete, and was encouraged by his family to go to college to continue his athletic career, but he decided instead to go into a career in business and real estate development. One such venture saw him owning and operating Inlet View Campground and Bunker Hill for a term of over 50 years.

Another aspect of his life that kept him busy was his membership at Island Baptist Church.

Two things that Eddie also loved and supported were animals and Donald Trump. He never wanted to see an animal go hungry, and he wanted Donald Trump back in the White House, which came to fruition for him this past November.

Eddie is survived by his loving spouse of 54 years, Janet Louise Tull; brother, Robert Tull Jr.; sister, Gloria Tull; daughters, Vicky Tull and Janet Mason (Matt Sr.); daughter-in-law,  Nancy Adams; grandchildren, Terrie Lynn Rhodes (Chris Bunting), Sharon Rhodes Wood (Chris Wood), Roger Adams (Britney Adams), and Thomas Adams (Michelle Adams); great-grandchildren, Christopher Fox, Brenna Arceneaux (Kyle), Savannah Adams, Austin Adams, Wilson Wood, Zachary Wood, Waylen Adams, Emma Adams, Billy McGee (Bogi), Brandon McGee, Noah McGee (Becca), Skyler Bunting, Trevor Bunting, and Anthony Wood;  great-great-granddaughters, Marlyn James Arceneaux and Elizabeth Michelle McGee; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Sandra (Tuck) Tull; son, James “Jimmy” Adams Jr.; and niece, Amy (Tull) Mullane.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, at the Union Baptist Church on Chincoteague Island, with the Rev. Eley officiating.

Visitation was held one hour prior.

Burial took place in the Mechanics Cemetery on Chincoteague Island.

Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Union Baptist Church, 6365 Church St., Chincoteague, VA 23336.

Services have been entrusted to Salyer Funeral Home Inc., on Chincoteague Island.
