Mr. Isaac D. Jones Jr., age 91, husband of Sandy Merritt Jones and a resident of Exmore, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2025, at his residence. He was the son of the late Isaac D. Jones and the late Emma Savage Jones. He retired from Tyson Foods and was a member of Exmore Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two children, Isaac David Jones (Jessica) and Debbie Lynn Simes; his sister-in-law, Glenda Jones; three grandchildren, John Simes, Jacob Jones, and Wren Jones; and a great-granddaughter, Patience Simes.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Margaret Carpenter, Katherine Bell, Franklin D. Jones, and William Edward Jones.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Doughty Funeral Home with the Rev. Jonathan Carpenter officiating. Interment followed at the Belle Haven Cemetery. Family joined friends at the funeral home an hour and a half prior to the service.
