Mrs. Victoria “Vicky” Crockett Bisson, 76, of Onancock, was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior and her late husband of 50 years, the Rev. Roger William Bisson, on the Lord’s Day, Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024.
Born Oct. 13, 1947, on Tangier Island, she was the daughter of the late Weldon Ray Crockett and the late Peggy Joyce Parks Crockett.
Following high school graduation, Vicky left the island to follow her dream of becoming a nurse. She completed the nursing program at Northampton-Accomack Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox and spent decades fulfilling her passion of caring for others. She also found great reward in helping those in need as the wife of a minister and was grateful to have the opportunity to spread the Lord’s word to countless people throughout her life.
Vicky is survived by her sister, Jessica Crockett Robbins, and her husband, Tim, of Melfa; sister-in-law, Janet Dalenta, of South Windsor, Conn.; as well as a niece and four nephews and their families.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Richard Ryalls, and her brother-in-law, Richard Dalenta.
Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at the Fairview Lawn Cemetery on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Robert Fletcher officiating.
