Mrs. Odelle Johnson Collins, wife of the late James G. Collins Jr. and a resident of Machipongo, died on Tuesday, Sept. 10. She was 86.
Odelle was a longtime mathematics teacher for Northampton County Public Schools, from which she retired.
The daughter of the late William and Rosetta Johnson, of Cape Charles, she was a member of the Northampton County High School class of 1955.
She earned a bachelor of science degree in biology from Virginia State University and took graduate classes at Old Dominion University.
There will be a sharing of memories event for Odelle on Friday, Sept. 20, from 5 to 7 p.m., at First Baptist Church, 501 Nectarine St., Cape Charles.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m., at Cape Charles Cemetery, 3120 Old Cape Charles Road, Cape Charles.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Northampton County High School Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 1223, Eastville, VA 23347.
