Northampton High School band teacher Brad Ford has been named Northampton County Public Schools’ teacher of the year.

Ford “stands out as an exemplary educator who embodies excellence, dedication, and innovation within and around our community,” the school system stated in a prepared release.

The press release cited Ford’s “exceptional commitment to fostering student success and exemplifying the highest teaching and performance excellence standards.”

It stated Ford’s “passion for musical education and unwavering dedication to his students and colleagues have resonated since his arrival at NCPS. He has a remarkable ability to inspire and motivate.”

Ford reimplemented the school system’s marching ensemble and increased opportunities for the band to compete and perform across the region.

Working with The Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation, he secured additional funds for musical equipment.

Ford also guides Odyssey of the Mind students. Under his leadership, Odyssey of the Mind teams have successfully competed at the regional and state levels and advanced to the World Finals Competition.

Ford will be eligible to represent NCPS in the regional Teacher of the Year competition.
