Mrs. Evelyn Sue Barefoot, 69, of Wasilla, Alaska, originally of Hopeton, wife of James Barefoot, passed away on Nov. 6, 2023.
Born on June 12, 1954, in Nassawadox, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Lillian Miller. Evelyn had a doctorate in counseling and taught school for 28 years. She was also a director of reading. She immensely enjoyed living in Alaska.
Other than her husband of almost 48 years, James, Evelyn is survived by her son, Jamie Barefoot, of Nome, Alaska; daughter, Tanzie and her husband, John, of Seattle, Wash.; grandchildren, Seth, Liam, and Grace; brothers, Randy Miller and wife, Dawn, and Joe Miller and wife, Paula; nephew, Brandon Miller and wife, Allison; niece, Mary Jo Miller; great-nephew, Wyatt Miller; sister-in-law, Judi Barefoot; and her mother-in-law, Helen Barefoot.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Little Randy Miller.
A memorial service will be held next year on June 12 in Alaska.
