Mr. Harvey Arthur Muller III, 79, of Greenbackville, peacefully transitioned from this earth the morning of Nov. 9, 2023, surrounded by love and his family after a valiant battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Harvey, fondly known to all as “Chick,” was born to Jeanne Elizabeth Bushnell and Harvey A. Muller Jr. on Jan. 8, 1944, in Ann Arbor, Mich.

When Chick was still an infant, the family relocated to Annapolis, Md., where Chick’s father was an assistant coach for the U.S. Naval Academy.

Chick attended Annapolis Senior High School and graduated in 1962, where he was active in sports and the Nu Phi Nu Fraternity. He later attended the University of Maryland.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army on Aug. 2, 1966, and was honorably discharged on July 26, 1968.

Chick is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Carol Evans-Muller (formerly of Cumberland, Md.); his two daughters, Lisa Ann Imler (husband, John), of Stevensville, Md., and Kara Lynn Leddy (husband, Michael), of Annapolis; and his two brothers, Robert (Bob) and Kurt Muller, both of Annapolis. Chick was blessed with one granddaughter, Mariah Lynn Dove, also of Annapolis.

Chick and Carol established homes in the Loch Haven community of Edgewater, Md., in Selbyville, Del., and built their current home in 2008 in Captains Cove, Greenbackville.

Chick was very active in his community and loved being on the water volleyball team. He was loved by many and had a wonderful personality with an infectious smile.

He loved sports, especially the Baltimore Ravens, Orioles, and Maryland basketball. He enjoyed cooking and boating and was always ready to lend a helping hand to others. He had a deep appreciation for antiques and was a small business owner in the industry for many years.

While Chick left us too soon, the impact he had on our lives will be felt for years to come.

A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Salyer Funeral Home, Inc. in Chincoteague, with the Rev. David Jones officiating.

All who knew him and wish to attend are invited.

A service will also be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 1101 Bay Ridge Ave., Annapolis, Md. at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greenbackville Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 156, Greenbackville, VA 23356.

Services were entrusted to Salyer Funeral Home, Inc. on Chincoteague Island.
