Mr. George Robert Nock Jr., 75, beloved son of the late George Nock Sr. and the late Viola Bailey Nock, was born on May 12, 1948, in Accomack County. He slipped into the arms of the Lord on May 28, 2023, at Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk.
George was educated in the public schools of Accomack County. At an early age he entered the workforce in the farming industry.
George was known by his family and friends as “Cornbread,” “Corny,” “Chicken,” and “Chicken George.” He would say that the ladies called him “Sweet Corn.”
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from Snead’s Memorial U. M. Church, Keller, with the Rev. James Nock officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Cornbread leaves to cherish his memories: one son, George Harris; one daughter, Monica Rogers; two stepdaughters, Chiquita Harris and Chinita Harris; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walter Nock and William Nock; five sisters, Doris Crippen, Olivia Fields, Cordelia Wilson, Darlene Wilson, and Viola Logan; one aunt, Mae Nock; brother-in-law, Woodrow Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
