Mrs. Barbara Jean Williams, 68, left her loved ones on Wednesday, May 24, 2023. Born on Oct. 16, 1954, in Treherneville, she was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy Mae Thomas.
Barbara Jean received her education in the public schools of Northampton County. She entered the workforce at an early age to provide for her family. Over the years she was employed at Holly Farms, Kane Miller, and in the farming industry.
On Feb. 27, 1989, Barbara met the man who would become her husband, Gerald Williams. They were blessed with 28 years of marriage before his passing in 2017.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from the Chapel of Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with Pastor Michael Bailey officiating. Interment was in the New Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Painter.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters, Vanessa Rowley, Lavonda Booze, and Patricia Duncan; two adopted children who were like her own, George Collins and Germaine Comer; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four brothers, William Giddens, Samuel Thomas, Robert Thomas, and Howard Thomas; five sisters, Alice Giddens, Gladys Perkins, Lola Harmon, Geraldine Tankard, and Vera Perry; mother-in-law, Ellen Williams; four sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; several special friends; close cousin, Mae Graves; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
