Mr. Stanford Justice Jr, 95, of Temperanceville, departed this life on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Born in Temperanceville, Stanford was the beloved son of the late Stanford and Clarice Justice.

Stanford served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1946. He married Winnie Grace Wharton in 1947 and they had six children. To those close to him, Stanford was known as “Junior” or “Jeet.” As the family patriarch, he was known for his relentless work ethic providing for his family as a long-distance truck driver for over 25 years.

He made many friends as he served his community as a Head Start bus driver and medical transport driver until his retirement at age 92.

Stanford was a devoted believer in Christ and a member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the Chapel of Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with the Rev. Harvey Davis Sr. officiating.  Interment was in the Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery, Temperanceville.

Stanford is survived by two sons, Ronnie Justice and Stevie Justice; two daughters, Linda Davis and Connie Needam; brother-in-law, Roland Wharton; sister-in-law, Doretha Fant; daughter-in-law, Louvenia Justice; 18 grandchildren, two grandsons whom he raised as his sons, Pierre Justice and Adam Justice; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom he loved dearly.

Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
