Mrs. Aline Manuel, 89, of Belle Haven, slipped from this life to eternal rest on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023, at Bay Health in Milford, Del.
Born in Franktown, she was the beloved daughter of Louise Holmes and Edward Savage. Aline was raised by her maternal grandparents James and Mildred Holmes.
Aline was educated in the Northampton County Public School System. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Franktown. She served on the usher board for over 20 years.
Aline was affectionately known as “Mama” and “Ms. Aline” to all of her family and friends. At an early age, she met and married the love of her life, Henry Manuel, and their union lasted 43 years. This union was blessed with seven children.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Northampton High Schoool, Eastville, with the Rev. Wilbert Adams officiating. Interment was in the Bethel Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Franktown.
She is survived by her loving children, Henry Manuel Jr., Linda “Anniegal” Sturgis, Gloria Jackson, Rickey Manuel, and Janice “Penny” Manuel; sisters, Sarah Bailey, Elsie Thomas, Mildred Brickhouse, Florence Kinder, and Mary Custis; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; six great- great-grandchildren; special friends, Helen, Cat, Poochie, Purnell Turner Sr, and Larry Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
