Police: Onancock Man Arrested After Trooper Clocked Him Driving 102 MPH on Route 13

An Onancock man was arrested after driving at high speeds on Route 13 in Painter Monday morning. Trevor Jaquan Giddins was charged with drug possession, driving while under the influence of drugs, reckless driving, and attempting to elude police.

Giddins was driving a Mazda 3 on Route 13 in Painter around 9:13 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, when a state trooper operating radar clocked him going 102 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone, according to Virginia State Police spokesperson Sgt. Michelle Anaya.

Giddins attempted to elude the trooper, turning off the highway onto Coal Kiln Road, and lost control of the vehicle at the intersection of Big Pine Road and Coal Kiln Road, according to Anaya.

Giddins was arrested and charged with eluding, possession with intent to distribute, driving while under the influence of drugs, and reckless driving.

He was released on a $2,500 unsecured bond.
