Sherifff’s Office Investigating Fatal Shooting in Greenbush

Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Greenbush Sunday.
Accoridng to Accomack County Sheriff Todd Wessells, the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office received a report of gunshots fired and a man lying in a yard not moving at around 12:40 p.m.
Deputies when they arrived found Eric Gerard Ames, 30, unresponsive in the yard of a residence in the 21000 block of Adams Road.
Ames was pronouced dead at the scene.
The body was transported to the Norfolk Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.
The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Virginia State Police, Parksley Volunteer Fire Department, and the Accomack County Department of Public Safety.
