Dear Editor:
There seems to be much upset about so-called “critical race theory” without it ever being defined.
If it is a critical look at how people of color got and continue to get the short end of the stick, what is wrong with the truth? Whether it is in health care, access to capital, education, or salaries, statistics bear this out.
The counterpoint is that things have improved and continue to improve, despite the white terrorists who attacked the Capitol Jan 6. The beauty of the country is that mechanisms for peaceful change have always existed and continue to exist. This too should be taught.
For those bumper sticker patriots who yap about critical race theory, a suggestion: Try living up to the last six words of the pledge of allegiance to the flag. “With liberty and justice for all.”
