Mrs. Mary Louise Lankford, 85, of New Church, departed this life on Friday, July 23, 2021, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock.
Born in Atlantic, Mary was the daughter of the late Roy and Eleanor Conquest. She was affectionately known as “Louise” by her family and friends. She was employed by Accomack County Public Schools and Wharton’s Worldwide Services at NASA for many years. She received numerous awards and retired from NASA in 1995 and Accomack County Public Schools in 2010. Louise married the love of her life, James Lankford, and they were happily married until he preceded her in death.
Private funeral services were held on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with the Rev. Harold E. White, Sr. officiating. Interment was in the New Beginnings Church Cemetery, Wattsville.
Louise leaves to rejoice and cherish her memories: one son, Stevie Harris; one granddaughter, Ashely Johnson; one grandson; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lester L. Conquest and Norman Conquest; one son-in-law; one sister-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
