Miss Marion L. Downing, 69, of Mappsville, departed this life on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Advent Health in Celebration, FL. surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Nelsonia, Marion was daughter of the late Vernon Downing, Sr. and Lena White Downing. She was employed at Perdue Farms in Accomac for twenty-five years until her retirement. She also worked in the cafeteria at Tyson Foods for a period of time.
Private funeral services were held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with Rev. Fred Crawley officiating. Interment was in the First Baptist Cemetery, Mappsville.
Marion leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Anita Seidy, Demetrice West, Elijah West and Ra’Nya Howard, whom she raised as her own; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her dog, Princess; two sisters, Pearline Dickerson and Jacqueline Lilliston; two brothers, Vernon Downing and Diree Justice; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
