Claude Dickerson, Sr.


Mr. Claude Dickerson, Sr., 72, of Parksley, departed this life on Friday, July 23, 2021 at his residence.

Born in Accomack County, Claude was son of the late John and Bessie Dickerson.  He was affectionately known as “Clybill” by his family and friends.  He was married to Thelma Dickerson.  Claude enjoyed his career in the trucking industry.  He dedicated thirty years as a truck driver for Perdue Farms before his retirement.

Private graveside services were held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Wharton Cemetery, Parksley, with Rev. Percell Widgeon officiating.

Claude leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Thelma Dickerson; three daughters, Lisa Dickerson, Claudette Wilmer, and Lynette Duffy; four sons, Claude Dickerson, Jr., Theodore Boggs, Mitchell Justice, and Alex Harris; two goddaughters; twenty-seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one aunt; six nieces; two nephews; two sisters-in-law; special companion, Christine Miller; special friend, Geraldine Moorefield; and his many friends at the Accomack Manor.
