Mr. Charles William Godwin Jr., 89, of Temperanceville, received eternal life Monday, Feb. 8, 2021, at Peak Healthcare at Hartley Hall in Pocomoke City, Md.
Born in Messongo, Charles was the beloved son of the late Charles L. Godwin Sr. and the late Ida Justice Godwin. “Big Dave,” as he was called by family and friends, was a dedicated truck driver for Evans Seafood for many years.
Private funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at the Chapel of Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac, with the Rev. Brenda Peterson officiating. Interment was in the Groton Community Cemetery, Messongo.
He leaves his love and fond memories to his children, June Gordy, Charlene Parker, Michael Bowen, Kevin Parker, and Darren Parker; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three nephews; five nieces; and a host great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends.
