Mr. Daniel Herman Runde, 55, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md. Born in Teutopolis, Ill, he was the son of the late William and Ellen (Sharpies) Runde. He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Runde, of Ocean City, Md., and stepchildren who he loved dearly and treated as his own, Jake and wife, Jessica Ward, of Accomac, and Kara and husband, Michael Nissim, of Miami, Fla.; and grandchildren, John Wesley Ward, Jamie Nissim, and Ari Nissim; three brothers, Paul (Julie), of Effingham, Ill., Bill (Silvia), of Teutopolis, and Pete, of Teutopolis; four sisters, Michelle, of Teutopolis, Patty, of Anchorage, Alaska, Carol, of Pahrump, Nev., and Angie, of Kirkwood, Mo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.
Dan served in the U.S. Navy and later managed a power plant. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus in Teutopolis.

In his spare time, he was an avid golfer. He loved spending time in St. Pete Beach, Fla. It was his happy place, his heaven. A friend once said, “If you did not like Dan, you did not know Dan.” Through his courageous battle with cancer his wife Pam called him “my Superman.” He was an all-around great person to know and cared very deeply for the people in his life.

Cremation followed his death. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Burbage Funeral Home on April 3, 2021, at 1 p.m., in the garden. Masks and social distancing are required.
