Mr. Granville Lee Taylor, 80, of Mears, husband of the late Lola Taylor, passed away on Dec. 11, 2018, at his residence.
Born on Dec. 9, 1938, in Mears, he was the son of the late Wrendo Taylor and Allene Godwin Taylor. Mr. Taylor was an engineering technician for NASA.
Mr. Taylor is survived by four stepchildren, Jackie Abling, Kathy Miller, Jay Abling and Ray Abling; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several cousins; and special friends, Brian, Melanie, and Cole Chapin.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018, at 2 p.m. from the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley with the Rev. John Maddox officiating. Interment will follow in the Groton’s Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at 1 p.m., at the funeral home.
