The Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge was identified as the fourth most visited attraction and park in Virginia in 2018, the Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC) announced Tuesday.
The newest travel technology company, Arrivalist, partnered with the corporation to highlight the 11 most visited locations in six categories.
“The tourism industry is a powerful economic engine and instant revenue generator for … Virginia,” said Rita McClenny, president and CEO of VTC. “As we compete with other states for tourism dollars, it is important to look at data, trends, and marketing strategies in the most creative ways available in order to continue to market the commonwealth as a premier travel destination.”
