Ms. Carol Sue Winder, 76, of Chincoteague Island, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 25, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She was born in Nassawadox, on April 21, 1942, to the late Clarence and Lillian Thornton Taylor.
She was a member of Union Baptist Church, Rainbow Sisters Sunday School Class, Chincoteague Church of God, and Accomack Chapter #62 Order of Eastern Star.
Ms. Winder is survived by her loving daughter, Laurie Haugh and her husband, Karl, of Chincoteague; granddaughter, Karla Haugh Hunter and her husband, Adam, of Chincoteague; grandson, Nicholas Taylor Haugh, of Chincoteague; special sister, Carolyn Bowden, of Chincoteague; brother, Clarence Robert Taylor and his wife, Brenda, of Wallops Island; two nephews, Chad Robert Taylor and his wife, Angela, of Virginia Beach, and Matthew Taylor and his wife, Tera, of Greenbackville; special cousin, Debbie Groller and her husband, Ray, of New Jersey; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. She will be missed by all but especially the “Greatful Eight,” Brenda Winder, Debbie Howard, Roseanne Conner, Donna Birch, Winkie Melvin, Joanne Snead, and Nancy Umphlett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, John and Emil Winder; and a special friend, Juanita “Snooks” Turlington.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, at the Union Baptist Church, Chincoteague, with the Rev. Kevin Eley and Pastor Kevin Stanley officiating.
Burial took place in the Daisey Cemetery on Church Street, Chincoteague.
