The Rev. Roger William Bisson, 73, beloved husband of Victoria Crockett “Vicky” Bisson and a resident of Onancock, formerly of Chesapeake, Va. walked graciously into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018.
Born June 15, 1945, in Hartford, Conn., he was the son of the late William Joseph Bisson and Pearl Langlois Bisson. Rev. Bisson proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1968 with the rank of airman first class. After graduating from college and spending many years in the general workforce, Rev. Bisson found his true calling in ministry. He became ordained and spent the remainder of his life serving the Lord in many capacities. Rev. Bisson was the founding pastor of Grace Fellowship Church, in Chesapeake, was involved in numerous ministerial organizations, and especially enjoyed sharing his love for praise and worship through his various musical talents.
In addition to his loving wife of 50 years, he is survived by two sisters, Lorraine Ryalls and husband, Richard, of Frisco, Texas, and Janet Dalenta and husband, Richard, of South Windsor, Conn.; sister-in-law, Jessie Robbins and husband, Timothy, of Melfa.; a niece; and four nephews.
Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, with Dr. Roger Frampton and the Rev. Wayne Doss officiating. Interment held in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery, with The Reverend Albert Crockett officiating.
