Mr. Robert L. Tull Jr., 91, passed away on Oct. 4, 2026, at his home in Chincoteague. 

Robert was the son of the late Robert L. Tull Sr. and Rachel Lunn Tull. 

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Sandra Tarr Tull; his daughter, Amy Tull Mullane; his brother, Edward Lunn Tull; his sister-in-law, Louise Tull; and his nephew Jimmy Adams. 

He is survived by his children, Robert Alan Tull and Holly Jane Tull, and his sister, Gloria Tull, all of Chincoteague; his granddaughter, Anna Horseman and her fiancé, Dustin Smack, of Withams; his grandson, Joseph Paul Mullane, of Norfolk; his stepdaughter, Susan Watson (Herby), of Pocomoke City; his great-granddaughter, Amy Lynn Smack, of Withams; two step-grandchildren, Courtney Petty (Jeff), of Fredericksburg, and Andrea Chandler (Ryan), of Easton, Md; as well as six step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, Vickie Tull, Janet Mason, Tommy Fulmer, Lorie Fulmer, and Eric Fulmer.

 Robert served 24 years with the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office, six years with the Chincoteague Police Department, and more than 20 years at the Eastern Correctional Institution near Princess Anne, Md. 

He was an avid Virginia Tech football fan. He attended Hargrave Military School as a teenager. He took the most pride in the fact that he was a sergeant in the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division while he was still a teenager. 

There was a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, at Salyer Funeral Home, on Chincoteague Island. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, at Union Baptist Church on Chincoteague Island. 

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Salyer Funeral Home on Chincoteague Island.
