A shooting in Onancock on July 8 left a woman injured.
Around 7:30 p.m. that night the Accomack County Sheriff's Office was notified of a shooting at the intersection of Spady Lane and Boundary Avenue, according to Sheriff W. Todd Wessells,
At the scene officers discovered several shell casings in the road. Based on CCTV footage and eyewitness testimony police believe two people wearing masks approached the area on foot and opened fire towards a black Ford Crown Victoria, which was occupied. A 27-year-old woman from Painter was wounded in the shooting, according to police.
She was taken to Riverside Shore Memorial hospital, treated for her injuries, and released later that night.
