Grant Beasley

Jul 10, 2026 | Obituaries

Mr. Grant Martin Beasley, 42, of Painter, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Riverside Regional Hospital in Newport News.

Born on Oct. 1, 1983, Grant was the son of Harry Martin Beasley, of Belle Haven, and the beloved son and best friend of Susan Willett Beasley, of Painter.

A lifelong resident of the Eastern Shore, he worked alongside his family in the family farming business, a vocation he took great pride in. Grant was a faithful member of Painter Garrison Methodist Church and found great enjoyment in the outdoors, especially hunting.

In addition to his love of farming and the outdoors, Grant had a special love for animals and never met a stranger. A true people person, he enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors and was always ready with a warm smile and kind conversation. Though a big man in stature, those who knew him best affectionately remember him as a gentle giant whose quiet kindness, generous heart, and caring nature touched everyone he met. His devotion to his family, friends, and community will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

He is survived by his parents, Harry Martin Beasley and Susan Willett Beasley, as well as numerous cousins who will cherish his memory.

A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, July 11, at 11 a.m. at Doughty Funeral Home, with Curtis Lucy officiating. Friends will join family one hour prior at the funeral home. Private interment will follow at Belle Haven Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Rifle Association of America, 11250 Waples Mill Road, Fairfax, VA 22030, or Painter  Garrison’s Methodist Church, P.O. Box 502, Painter, VA 23420.
