Mrs. Norma S. Bloxom, 80, of Hallwood, wife of the late William Somers Bloxom, passed away on July 2, 2026, in Nassawadox. 

Born on Aug. 22, 1945, in Hopeton, she was the daughter of the late Upshur Dennis Matthews and Nettie Catherine Thornton Matthews. 

Norma was a homemaker, a loving babysitter, and a dedicated wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking, the Washington Redskins football team, and watching Joyce Meyers on TV. She was a member of St. Thomas United Methodist Church.

Norma is survived by her daughters, Debbie Gray, Sheila Richardson, Darlene Robbins, and Crystal Annis; her son, William L. Bloxom; four granddaughters, Courtney Bloxom, Ashlin Bloxom, Vicky Wessells, and Alexis Bloxom; four grandsons, Josh Bloxom, David Lewis, Matthew Lewis, and Paul Gray Jr.; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Bloxom. 

A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 9, at 3 p.m. from the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley, with George Fulk officiating. Interment followed in the Parksley Cemetery. 

The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Arrangements were by the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley.
