Apr 24, 2026 | Obituaries

Mr. Danny Goble, 69, of Townsend, passed away on April 12, 2026.

Born in California and raised on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, Danny carried a deep love for his hometown throughout his life.

Danny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn Goble; his daughter, Ashley Goble (Otis Pride); his sons, Joshua Goble (Leslie) and Jacob Goble; his granddaughter, Jaelyn Goble; his brother, John Edward “Eddie” Goble; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur John Goble and Esther Thomas Goble.

Danny and JoAnn were the proud owners of Eastern Shore Pottery. You could often find him there sitting in his chair alongside his beloved dog, Oreo, always ready to greet friends and customers with a warm welcome.

Music was an important part of Danny’s life. In college, he played the trombone and also developed a lasting love for the guitar. In his young adult life, he played in a band and wrote his own music. More recently, he cherished time spent playing music with friends in The Music Circle at Cape Charles Brewing Company and singing on Festive Fridays in Cape Charles and wherever he could.

His love for music was matched by his appreciation for the outdoors, especially the peace he found while fishing. His other hobbies included genealogy, reading, and Eastern Shore history.

Danny will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, creativity, and the deep love he had for his family, friends, and all who knew him. His presence will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A graveside service was conducted Friday, April 17, at 11:00 a.m. at Capeville Masonic Cemetery, with Pastor Shaun Smith officiating.
