Mrs. Cora Sue Scott Campbell, 79, wife of the late James David Campbell, and a resident of Exmore, passed away April 11, 2026, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital.

She was born to Charles “Scotty” Scott and Beatrice Williams Scott on January 31, 1947, in Nassawadox. She graduated from Onancock High School, then attended nursing school in Nassawadox. She retired from Shore Memorial Hospital as a nurse of 42 years.

She was a devoted member of Hollies Baptist Church. In Cora’s younger years, she enjoyed taking friends and family for joy rides in her ‘67 Mustang. She enjoyed reading, canning, and gardening.

She is survived by her brother, Newman T. Scott and his wife, Sharon; her sister, Deborah Russell and her husband, Alan; her son-in-law, John Inman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her loving husband; her parents; her grandparents; her daughter, Susan Inman; and her sisters, Sylvia “Tib” Ayers and her husband, Herman, and Vickie Thornes and her husband, Robert.

A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, May 3, at 2 p.m., at Doughty Funeral Home, with Pastor Steve Miller officiating.

The family would like to extend specials thanks and gratitude to Cora’s niece, Pam Lewis, for all the care and support she gave Cora.
