Mr. Daniel Ellis Beasley, 60, of Chesterfield, passed away Sep. 7, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Beasley.
He is survived by his parents, Mary and William Glenn Beasley; his sister, Maryglenn Beasley Phillips (Ernie); his nieces and nephews, Kendal (Joe), Jessie (Alex), Jordan (Michael), and Madison; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Braeden, Laney, Jaxon, Connor, and Jameson; and a host of extended family and friends, particularly Rhonda, Pete, and Tom, who helped him and his family unconditionally.
Daniel’s athleticism was defining throughout his life. He played football for Lloyd C. Bird High School, where he also earned the title of state wrestling champion. His passion for the game continued into college, first as proud captain of the Chowan University football team, and later as a player at Emory & Henry College. His football number was always #10.
He found great joy in coaching youth football, inspiring young athletes with the same dedication and spirit he carried on the field.
Daniel was also a natural born leader and humanitarian, having served in a number of organizations, including the Northeast Pensacola Sertoma Club.
Daniel enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and time spent with family and friends on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.
He loved his nieces and nephews dearly, as if they were his own children.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, at Manakin Episcopal Church, 985 Huguenot Trail, Midlothian, VA 23113. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to St. Matthews Episcopal Church (c/o C. Hillman, Church Administrator, 12224 Harden Hall Drive, Chesterfield, VA 23838) or Manakin Episcopal Church.
Just remember #10 on the field and #1 in our hearts.
