The 101st annual Chincoteague Pony Swim on Wednesday, July 29 lasted 4 minutes and 37 seconds.
150 ponies came ashore at 10:05 a.m. after crossing from Assateague to Chincoteague island at slack tide with the help of the Saltwater Cowboys.
The annual pony auction will take place on Thursday, July 30 beginning at 8 a.m. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company, which owns and maintains the wild pony herd.
