Donnie Windsor

Nov 14, 2025 | Obituaries

Mr. Donald Monroe “Donnie” Windsor Jr., 63, of New Church, passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2025. Born March 19, 1962, in Crisfield, Md., and raised in Marion Station, Md., he was the son of the late Donald Monroe Windsor Sr. and Constance Faye “Connie” Hart and stepson of the late Wayne Hart.

After graduating from Crisfield High School, Donnie enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served his country. Following his honorable discharge, he returned home and began what would become a lifelong career in mechanics, specializing in small engine repair.

Known for his natural talent and determination, Donnie could fix just about anything. He loved to tinker and was always up for a new project, whether it was a carpentry repair, a maintenance job, or fine-tuning an engine. He enjoyed building model cars and could never resist an auction followed by an afternoon ‘tinkering’ with Wayne in the backyard.

In addition to his parents and stepfather, Donnie was predeceased by the love of his life, Diana Brown Windsor, with whom he is now happily reunited.  He was also predeceased by his sister-in-law, Sheryl Lewis.

He is survived by his sister — whom he never called by name, only “Sister” — Terri Lynn Kelly and her husband, Philip; his children, Chuck Ward and his wife, Carol, Sean Ward, Donald Windsor III and his wife, Brenda, David Windsor and his wife, Amber, and Jessica Fazekas and her husband, David; his stepbrother and stepsister, Eric Hart and Ginger Hart Villanueva; his special cousin, Steve Windsor and his wife, Lynn, as well as their families; and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Donnie’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center in Parksley for their kindness, compassion, and care during his time there.

Funeral services were conducted from the graveside at Downing’s Cemetery in Oak Hall on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 1 p.m.

Contributions in Donnie’s memory may be made to the Eastern Shore SPCA, P.O. Box 164, Onley, VA 23418 (www.shorespca.com).
