Mr. Eddie James Durham, 64, of Bloxom, husband of Linda Taylor, passed away on June 16, 2025, in Bloxom.

Born on Jan. 23, 1961, in Mears, he was the son of  the late Garmon Lee Durham and Nancy Taylor Durham. Eddie was a waterman and a seafood wholesale buyer. His love of the water was evident both in his job and his love of fishing. He knew the water better than the roads and had a natural knowledge of the tides, seasons, and waterways that was unmatched.

Eddie enjoyed his dogs, watching Dale Earnhart Sr., and driving his (many) trucks. He was a loving family man, always playing jokes and pranks on his kids and grandkids. Eddie was a strict businessman who instilled his high standards in his work and in the work ethic of his family. His love of fishing and his determination in business is a trait that will be passed on for generations.

Eddie is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda Taylor; his children, Tracy Taylor White and husband, Lance, of Laurel, Del., and Kimberly Mears and Earl Pryor, of Bloxom; his siblings, Susan Gail Annis, of Greenbush, Janet Sharpe (Curtis), of Bloxom, Patsy English (Brent), of Bloxom, and Michael Durham, of Okeechobee, Fla.; his grandchildren, Richard Johnson (Hollie), of Bloxom, Taylor Marie Gardner, of Bloxom, Codie White (Brittany), of Delmar, Md., Jacob Evan White, of Laurel, and Warren Scott Johnson (Isabella), of Exmore; his great-grandchildren, Kailynn Gardner, Riley Johnson, Piper Johnson, Corbin White, Bodie Johnson, and Koa White; his uncle and aunt, Carroll Taylor (Connie) and Brenda Budd; his special friend, Gregory Huffman; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Greg and Geno.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Angie Dawn Taylor.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, June 19, at 3 p.m. from Thornton Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Layne officiating. Interment followed in the Parksley Cemetery.
