Mrs. Ingrid B. Manifold, 99, wife of the late Max D. Manifold, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025, at Commonwealth Senior Living at the Eastern Shore in Onancock.
Born Sept. 2, 1925, in Berlin, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Walter Buhre and Johanna Koenig Buhre. Ingrid was raised in Tokyo, Japan, and later moved, along with her family, to Granbury, Texas. She made her career working for Republic National Bank, where she spent many years as executive secretary for their international department.
Ingrid is survived by her children, Stephen M. Manifold and his wife, Linda, of Austin, Texas, and Susan M. Tillotson and her husband, Mark, of Cape Charles; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A service in celebration of her life will be held at Commonwealth Senior Living in Onancock on Friday, June 6, at 1 p.m. The family will gather for a private interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home.
