Mrs. Jessica Crockett “Jessie” Robbins, 72, wife of Timothy J. “Tim” Robbins and a resident of Melfa, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News.
Born Sept. 19, 1952, in Nassawadox, and raised on Tangier Island, she was the daughter of the late Weldon Ray Crockett and the late Peggy Joyce Parks Crockett.
Following graduation from Tangier Combined School, Jessie completed the cosmetology program at Hicks Academy of Beauty and later received an associate degree from Smithdeal-Massey Business College in Richmond. Though she had many careers throughout her life, her passion was found at home as a devoted wife and grandmother.
In addition to her husband of 42 years, she is survived by her son, Timothy L. Robbins and his wife, Jolene, of Onancock; her granddaughter, Amelia Robbins; and her cousin, Eddie Crockett and his wife, June. Other than her parents, Jessie was predeceased by her sister, Victoria “Vicky” Bisson.
A memorial service for Jessie will be conducted Saturday, May 17, at 2 p.m., at the Historic Cokesbury Cultural Center in Onancock, with Ella Crockett officiating.
