Indictments issued in Northampton County

Walter David Brunk, 33, of Fiddler Lane, Jamesville, was indicted May 9 on 21 felony charges: eight counts of grand larceny, eight counts of stealing property with the intent to sell, and five counts of unarmed breaking and entering with the intent to commit assault and battery or larceny, all between Nov. 1 and Nov. 14, 2024.

He was arrested Dec. 7, 2024, by the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office.

Brunk was released the same day on $3,500 unsecured bail. His bond on remaining charges was later changed, and he was released on $2,500 secured bond on March 12.

Charlene Collins, 43, homeless, was indicted May 9 on a felony charge of assault and battery of a law enforcement officer on Jan. 4.

She also faces a misdemeanor charge of obstruction of justice.

Collins was arrested Jan. 4  by the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office and released on $1,000 secured bail.

Michael Lee Gingell, 40, of Lankford Highway, Cape Charles, was indicted May 9 on 15 felony charges: five counts of grand larceny, five counts of stealing property with the intent to sell, and five counts of unarmed breaking and entering with the intent to commit assault and battery or larceny, all between Nov. 1, 2024, and Nov. 14, 2024.

He was arrested May 12 by the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office and held without bail.

James Eric Hill, 36, of Culpeper, was indicted May 9 on a felony charge of eluding police and endangerment by driving 20 mph or more over the limit on Jan. 11.

He also faces misdemeanor charges of driving with a revoked or suspended license and reckless driving.

Hill was arrested by the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office and held without bail Jan. 14.

He was released March 27 on $1,500 secured bond.

Frank Joseph Newman Jr., 48, of Virginia Beach, was indicted May 9 on a felony charge of possession of more than one pound of marijuana on Feb. 29, 2024.

He was arrested by the Eastville Police Department on March 1, 2024.

Newman was released March 2, 2024, on $1,500 secured bail.

George Howard Stewart, 68, of Concord Wharf Road, Exmore, was indicted May 9 on a felony charge of credit card larceny with the intent to use, sell, or transfer on Oct. 9, 2024.

He was arrested the same day by the Exmore Police Department and held without bail.

Stewart was released Oct. 13, 2024, on $2,000 secured bond.

Andrew William Bunce, 55, of Rogers Drive, Nassawadox, was indicted May 9 on four felony charges: uttering a forged check on Sept. 27, 2024; credit card fraud of more than $1,000 in six months, between Jul. 6, 2024, and Jan. 6; attempting to disarm a law enforcement officer of a firearm or stun gun on Jan.6; and possession of a Schedule I or II drug, cocaine, on Jan. 10.

He was arrested Feb. 13 by the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office and held without bail.

Bunce was released April 3 on $2,500 secured bond.
