Mr. James Patrick “JP” Turner, 50, of Melfa, passed away on Feb. 7, 2025, in Parksley. Born on July 16, 1974, in Nassawadox, he was the son of Robert C. Turner Sr. and Sharon Adkins Turner Smith, and stepmother, Shirley Turner. James worked for Tyson Foods and enjoyed fishing, reading, cooking, and eating. He was a comical, loving person who loved to debate and talk about different subjects.

In addition to his parents, James (JP) is survived by his children, Emily Loraine Turner and Eric David Turner, both of Greenbush; his siblings, Bobbi Jo Evans, of Melfa, Stephanie Starr Hill, of Exmore, Athena Farlow, of Quinby, Kelley Louise Turner, of Florida, and Robert C. Turner II, of Tennessee; his uncle, Michael Turner, of Gilford; his special aunt and uncle, Billy and Patricia Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

JP was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Conrad and Shirley J. Adkins, of Bloxom; and his maternal grandparents, Richard C. Turner and Bonnie H. Turner, of Parksley.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. from Thornton Funeral Home with Robert C. Turner Sr. officiating.
