Mr. Gavin Lewis Hopkins, 21, a resident of Painter, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2025.
A native of the Eastern Shore, he was the son of Jason Lewis Hopkins and Ashley Lynn Parks. He worked as a waterman, was a member of Painter Garrison’s Methodist Church, and was a counselor at Camp YMCA — Silver Beach, where he started out as a camper before becoming a counselor, which he very much enjoyed.
In addition to his loving mother and father, he is survived by his grandparents, John and Nancy Henderson and Jody and Pat Hopkins; a sister, Kaylie Hopkins; a brother, Cameron Hopkins; a great-grandfather, Marvin Nuttall; and numerous aunts and uncles.
He was predeceased by his grandmother, Jami Belote Parks; and great- grandparents, Anne Carol Nuttall, Bob and Patsy Gladden, and Charlie W. Parks.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. at Doughty Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlene Harris and Pastor Zach Lewis officiating. Private interment was in Belle Haven Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Painter Garrison’s Methodist Church, Camp YMCA — Silver Beach, or Broadwater Academy.
