Mrs. Elizabeth “Charlene” Hall passed away at Sentara Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City, N.C. on Dec. 21. Charlene was born June 17, 1956, in Northampton-Accomack Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox.
After graduating Central High School, she worked as a nursing assistant for Intrepid Home Care, something she really enjoyed. She then went on and successfully graduated on May 18, 1991, as a registered nurse. She worked as an Intrepid ICU nurse, a hospice nurse, and ended up as a nurse at the prison in Fruitland, Md. After retiring she enjoyed helping take care of her grandchildren.
Charlene is survived by a loving son, Vernon Hall (Shannon); her mother, Jackie Farlow, of Melfa; her brother, Charlie T. Farlow (Susan), of Onancock; sister, Katherine Hernandez, of Killeen, Texas; six grandchildren, Madison, Carson, Alexis, Damien, Dustin, and Hunter Hall; several nieces and nephews, Abby Taylor (Scott), of Wachapreague, Benjamin Farlow (Kaycee), of Bristol, Tenn., Shane Hernandez (Toni), of Killeen, Shaun Hernandez (Leeann), of Enfield, Conn., and Derek Hernandez (Becky), of Reno, Nev.; several great-grandnieces and nephews; and her very dear friend, Loretta Lynn Rogers, of Accomack.
She was predeceased by her loving father, Charlie T. Farlow Sr.; and her grandparents, Elizabeth Farlow Lingo and Tommy Farlow and Captain Jack and Maude Melson.
Funeral services will be held at Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore on Sunday, Dec. 29, with visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to Friends of Animal Control, 18299 Killmontown Road, Melfa, VA 23410, c/o of Sue Burdge, founder and president.
