Mrs. Beth Ann Williams Lafferty, 65, of Bloxom, passed away peacefully on Oct. 29, 2024, in Parksley.

Born on Oct. 28, 1959, in Nassawadox, she was the daughter of the late Roy G. Williams and the late Mildred Taylor Williams. Beth graduated from Parksley High School and worked at the Parksley Drug Store, St. Paul’s Pre-School, and Parksley Day Care.

She enjoyed woodworking with her father, painting, baking, playing games on her iPad while watching soap operas, and drinking Coke Zero.

Known for her warm, kind, and giving personality, Beth would do anything for anyone. She would always make sure you were fed and often gave people a place to stay when they needed it. She was always willing to help those in need. Beth enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and caregivers and would want to thank all of them over the years and especially those involved with the care she received from those at Saber Health and Rehab. Most of all, she adored her son, her family, and her grandchildren.

Beth is survived by her husband (they were separated but remained loyal friends), Grover L. Lafferty; her son, Roy Justin (Sheryl) Lafferty, of Parksley; grandchildren, Bianca Nicole, Levi Roy, Seth Foley, and Zachary (Nevaeha) Foley; stepsons GL Lafferty and Bill Lafferty and his daughter, Olivia; niece, Melanie Ann and her daughter, Madison Grace; stepgrandchildren, Ketih, Vance, Don, Aaron, Adam, Erica, and their children; lifelong friends, Nancy LesCallette and Sharon Pattisall; and companion, James Bell.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Vickie Lightfoot and Rickey Williams, Rickey’s son, Jason, and her stepdaughters, Nova Cylatt and Dana Corson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. from Thornton Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Layne officiating. Interment will follow in the Groton’s Cemetery in Hallwood.

Arrangements are by the Thornton Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Parksley.
