Mrs. Patricia Ann Somers Bloxom died Friday, Aug. 16, 2024, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Md. Born April 9, 1935, in Parksley, she was the daughter of the late Elmer W. Somers.
Pat lived most of her life in the Parksley area, having resided in town until 1992, when she made her home at Sunderland Hall Farm in Gargatha Landing. In 2012, she moved to Mallard Landing Retirement Community in Salisbury.
As a child, Pat went to school in Parksley and later attended Onancock High School. In 1950 and 1951, she had the pleasure of attending National Music Camp in Interlochen, Mich., now part of the Interlochen Center of Arts. She graduated from the preparatory department at Virginia Intermont College in Bristol in 1953. Patricia was a homemaker and a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
She was predeceased by her former husband, James R. Bloxom, with whom she had one daughter, Anne. She was also predeceased by her sister, Margaret Gay Somers.
A memorial service was held at the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. G. Wayne Parsley officiating. Private interment was held at the Parksley Cemetery.
