Mr. James David Campbell, 76, husband of Cora Sue Scott Campbell and a resident of Exmore, passed away Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, at his residence.

He was born to Coy Campbell and Helen Rowe Campbell on Sept. 18, 1947, in Nassawadox. Jimmy graduated from Northampton High School in 1966 and retired from Northampton County Public Schools as school bus garage supervisor after 43 years of service.

He attended Exmore Wesleyan Church from childhood until it closed and then became a member of Hollies Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher and a deacon.

He loved deer hunting, turkey hunting, fishing, and vacationing in Tennessee and North Carolina to visit with family.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a brother, Donnie Campbell; two sisters, Judy Bradford and Joyce Morgan; a son-in-law, John Inman; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; grandparents; daughter, Susan Inman; brother, Bobby Campbell; and infant sister, Brenda.

A joint graveside service for James Campbell and Susan Inman will be conducted Monday, Sept. 16, at 2 p.m. at Johnson’s United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastors Steven Miller and Jonathan Carpenter officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hollies Baptist Church, P.O. Box 7, Keller, VA 23401; St. Jude Cancer Research, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or Duke Cancer Research, 710 W. Main St., Suite 200, Durham, NC 27701.
