Mr. Bramble “Wayne” Parks, 77, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024, at Delaware Hospice in Milford, Del. Wayne was born Oct. 18, 1946, in Nassawadox and lived in Painter until his family relocated to Delaware.

Wayne was a chief paramedic in Salisbury, Md., served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves, and was a member of Eagle Nest Pathway Church in Lewes, Del. Despite a tragic brain injury, Wayne never lost faith in the Lord or himself, nor did he lose his jovial personality and charming smile. He was grateful to have been one of the first three men welcomed at PeachTree Acres Assisted Living in Harbeson, Del. (now PeachTree Health Group) upon its inception and attributed much of his success to their dedication to his health and wellbeing.

Wayne was predeceased by his loving parents, Walter Bramble Parks and Lila Sturgis Parks; daughter, Tracy Parks; and special cousins and friends, Phyllis and Pell Sherman.

He is survived by his cousins, Donnie Walters, Cecil Mears, Joan Smith, Tommy Mitchell, Barbara Jones, Michael Sparrow, Dale Ballard, and Bruce Ballard and their families.

Funeral services were conducted from the graveside at the Red Bank Baptist Church Cemetery in Marionville on Thursday, Feb. 29 at 11 a.m., with his cousin-in-law, Garnet L. Mears, officiating.
